Three electro-membrane processes, one principle

All of them use an electric field to separate ions — without high pressure, without phase change and with minimal chemical consumption.

ED/EDR

Electrodialysis and electrodialysis reversal

Migration of dissociated ions through alternating cation- and anion-exchange membranes driven by direct current. Enables desalination as well as high concentration without thermal energy.

BPED

Bipolar electrodialysis

Bipolar membranes electrochemically split water into H⁺ and OH⁻ ions, converting neutral salts directly into the corresponding acid and base — without purchasing and dosing hazardous chemicals.

MCDI

Membrane capacitive deionisation

Electrosorption on porous carbon electrodes covered with ion-selective membranes. Designed for energy-efficient desalination and softening of low- to medium-salinity waters.
